Ozzy Osbourne could make an interesting guest host. It's not like he has never been on television before. Anyways, the thing that's interesting me most on Raw at the moment is Kofi Kingston, hands down. I wonder if Osbourne will book a match between Kingston and Orton at the next pay-per-view.

Ozzy is going to be a train wreck. He was on TV as part of his reality show, not with a script on a live wrestling show. I suspect Sharon to do most of the talking.

As long as Sharon sticks to the script and Ozzy just blurts out his random insanities, then they shouldn't be any worse than any other host. Of course, they are following the two NASCAR guys from last week, so Ozzy could attempt to read the script, fuck it up completely (which would be so bad it'd be hilarious) and they'd STILL be better! Those guys sucked.

I think I watched maybe 10 mins of Raw and fast forwarded through the rest of it. Jericho still the best thing in the WWE. I wish they would end the DX thing. I like HHH and HBK but this face DX is old and tired. The Miz is Awesome. Ozzy and Sharon > Nascar guys.

Raging's Random Thoughts

- I have to admit that I did not find Ozzy and Sharon to be entertaining at all. The promos they were in were utterly painful and that time wasting "RAW's got Talent" was a definite piss break. I'm extremely disappointed with this. How disappointed? The NASCAR guys were better than the Osbournes solely because they didn't appear anywhere near as much. The big, shining moment for Ozzy was when he announced the 6-man tag.

- Match of the night goes to the 6-man tag of Kofi/MVP/Mark Henry vs. Orton/Legacy. It started out as Orton vs. Kofi, which was actually starting to get good, until Legacy came out, and you can figure out the rest. However, this was a just barely situation.

- The runner-up was Evan Bourne and Miz. These guys are simply impressive. It was really a coin toss to figure out who took the show.

- We had a Diva Battle Royale and the good news is that Gail was in it. The bad news is that she was the first eliminated by Kelly Kelly. Then, it was just the Barbie dolls battling it out. So now, we have Alicia Fox vs. Melina. I'm guessing either Kelly or Gail will do a heel turn.

- We had Sheamus vs. Noble again and this time around, this is what I expected from a "vicious, Celtic warrior". The stretcher bit with Noble was a nice touch and the commentators did a good job in playing it up. Kudos to Noble for taking that powerbomb on the floor.

- We had a three-way match between Cena, Big Show, and Jericho. It was kinda dull with Cena getting the hell beaten out of him and then performing the Superman routine. I was actually surprised Jericho won with the help of Big Show. I was even more suprised when Jerishow took out DX easily.

- Best funny bit of the night was with Cena and DX with the Bella Twins. Juvenile humor but it was the funniest.

- Shawn Michaels needed a damn muzzle, tonight. He just wouldn't shut-up.

- It was really a shame that we had two good matches, a decent one, and a Diva Battle Royale dragged down by the crap that went on between bouts. I actually agreed with Jericho's comment to Sharon and Ozzy, the hosts are really dragging the show down.

I'm sad to admit, I haven't watched or been keeping up with wrestling for perhaps a decade. I turned on the t.v. with my 7 year old who loves wrestling to find out that they were 20 minutes from my house in Worcester :(

15 bucks a ticket and I had NO CLUE they were that close to us. Damn :(

I think the Guest Hosts take away quite a bit of storyline. With the Guest Hosts, you know they'll be gone in a week, so, so what? With a gm, they will be there for a while and can add a lot to a storyline. They can get the fans on their side, or against them and makes things work out better in the long run. Overall what I'm trying to say is the Guest Host thing makes Raw, and sometimes PPV's a tad dull.

I enjoy both, but it fully depends on the host. I loved when Jeremy Piven was a host, but then you have those terrible Nascar guys, and then Ozzy.

When did the guest host thing begin?

I enjoyed the opening segment. I think Sharon kind of killed Miz's heat a little bit in that segment by drawing out the "really, really, really" thing, but otherwise he was a strong start to the segment. The segment stayed fun all throughout, even when DX came out. The whispering the lines gimmick was fun and really helped keep the guest hosts to the script...but even then they messed up Evan Bourne's name!

They hyped Sheamus really well this week. Last week, the announcers just sat there and didn't say anything during his match. This week, he destroyed Noble and they kept coming back to it. That's how you make someone vicious, by returning to it several times during the show. I'm not much of a fan of Sheamus at this point, but I like how WWE was behind him this week.

I like what they are doing with Kofi right now. I used to hate him, but now he has decent mic time, decent promos, and starting to develop a true character (as opposed to the "oh, he's Jamaican" thing he had before). You can call this a downgrade for Orton if you want, but if he helps create a new star for the company, then he's doing more good for the company than most others.

The "Raw's Got Talent" segment was terrible, but it did have one funny moment. When Khali comes out, Ozzy looks at him and says (off mic) "He's fucking tall".

I like how Jerishow came off strong this week. It's good considering they are going into a match against Undertaker for the World Title at Survivor Series. I haven't read the spoilers, but I am somewhat expecting to see DX get booked against Undertaker on SD! to counter Raw's main event. Not sure how they can work that though since they don't have a padded excuse for having DX appear on both shows like Jericho.

Overall, I thought it was a fun show.

i've always thought that humour and strong fan emotions were important in wrestling. i found raw neither humourous (funny in parts as cyburs said) nor was i particular captivated by any characters

although my hatred for john cena is still strong enough for me to want to see him be beaten/humiliated etc etc etc. pity there's noone like angle or jericho who's really up against him atm like they were in 2006

I ended up missing most of the show this week because I was busy writing a DVD review for Pulse Wrestling. However, after hearing about the Masters segment, I decided to search for it on YouTube. Hilarious stuff.
