So, everyone is expecting the World Title match at the Rumble to be a three way with Rey and Batista challenging the Undertaker, righ?

I'll try to remember as much as I can about the event, but for some reason I'm having a hard time. I think it's because no match really stood out (besides the dark match after the show), but it was awesome nonetheless.

-The show started off with Punk coming out and cutting a great promo about new year's resolutions. It basically consisted of making fun of people in the audience and how most watching have already broken their resolutions (remember, this airs Friday so it didn't make sense to some of us in the crowd).

-Punk beats Matt Hardy in the first Beat the Clock Match to determine the #1 contender for the WHC. It was okay, but I also used it as a bathroom break so I can't really comment on it.

-The second beat the clock match was Kane vs. Ziggy, which ended in a draw since neither could beat the clock. I also made a joke about how I'm glad I went to the bathroom before Kane's pyro scared everybody, which I believe was more exciting than the match.

-The Punjabi Playboy beats the Carolina Panther (not making that up) in a squash match. If anybody needs any backstory, the Panthers basically killed the Giants (who play at Giants Stadium, which is also in the Meadowlands complex next to the IZOD Center) last Sunday during their last game ever at Giants Stadium. So it was a way to get some quick heat, and I think it did the job. It seems like the only time I boo during wrestling events is if somebody wears a jersey of a sports team that I hate.

-McIntire beats Johnny Nitro via DQ. I didn't see exactly what happened, but I hear Nitro was pushed into the ref. I thought it had something to do with one bashing the other into the ring post which was exposed during the match, but I guess not. They also brawled after the match for a bit up the ramp.

-Mickie James beats Beth Phoenix. As you can imagine, I don't have any of the details for this match because I was too busy trying to take pictures of the uh...competitors, but I think something happened between Leyla, McCool, Mickie and Beth at the end. Ultimately McCool ended it by slamming Mickie down after the match.

-Mysterio beats Jericho in a beat the clock match to have the lead in the competition. Actually this one was a great match, made better by all the Mysterio fans and Jericho fans going at it (in a nice way). I actually think Jericho got a pretty good reaction on the outset, although we all know it will come off as boos on TV.

-Hart Dynasty defeats Jimmy Wang Yang, some Slam J guy or something, and Maria (Maria!). The best part of the match was afterwards when Maria was put into the sharpshooter by Natalya, which got a nice reaction, because of Bret I guess.

-Batista vs. Ron Kill...er, R-Truth, ends in I guess a draw after Rey Mysterio, who was on commentary, pulled Batista out of the ring just as he was going for the pin. The original ruling was that it was a draw because the clock ran out, and therefore Mysterio would become the #1 contender, but then at the end Vickie Guerrero came out and said that Batista and Mysterio would face off next week to become the #1 contender for Undertaker's championship. (just a side note, I had no idea it was Vickie; I thought some type of instrument was going off in the arena before the third "EXCUSE ME!" She has some vocal power, huh?)

-DARK MATCH: then for us fans, Vickie decided to "change her mind" and make Batista and Mysterio fight right then and there...IN A STREET FIGHT! It was a cool match, made better by a lot of people leaving and us able to get closer seats. But there were a couple of spots on there, including using a trash can lid, throwing Mysterio into the steps, and using the chair. Jericho, Kane, Punk, and I think someone else then came in and interfered, with Kane coming in last and demolishing everyone else. Mysterio eventually got the 619 down and the victory to send us all home happy.

All in all, a great night. The crowd was loudest for Mysterio when he beat Jericho, also spiking when Cryme Tyme came out and R-Truth's entrance (although the former happened on Superstars). It certainly wasn't a crowd like MSG, but it was okay.

Also, the best part is that they showed a promo during the show that said Raw was coming back to the IZOD Center in April.

Beat you to it, champ. Surprised you remembered the "Carolina Panther". Maybe someone can merge our two threads together.

If only!

Love the live reports, but I haven't read it yet. Haven't read the spoilers, either. I'll hit you back up after I see the show.

Surprised you remembered the "Carolina Panther".
Are you kidding? That was the best part of the show! Seriously, I was sitting way up there (probably one of the furthest points of the arena from the ring) but you can still see the massive size difference between Khali and the Panther.

Also, even though I'll be sued by the WWE if they ever see them, I'll post some pictures up in a little while, including a great one of Khali killing the Panther.

And also, those spoilers were much better than mine. Mine sound like somebody trying to remember moments back in time, getting the big details wrong and remembering everybody's reaction to everything instead of the important stuff.

-McIntire beats Johnny Nitro via DQ.
lolol

I thought it was a fairly solid smackdown with good matches (bar the boring Khali match) Jericho and Rey always pull off an exciting near falls match. That codebreaker when rey jumped off the top rope was sweet.

Not too excited about the Triple threat at Rumble.

That was easily one of my favorite parts of the show right there.

But yeah, I just want to mention that I think I took the crowd when I went to MSG (twice) for granted. Most people say that the fans in NY and NJ are the same; I think they're similar, but they're really not the same. If anybody's watching right now, the crowd seems pretty quiet throughout the show, which is how it was live for the most part (until the last few matches). There were also a bunch of kids in attendance, which I think has a lot to do with it. When I went to Raw, there were kids, but not many. This week basically any adult you saw had a child attached with them. Hell in a Cell was similar to the Raw crowd, although a bit quieter. I'm really trying to figure that out out; Newark and East Rutherford are not far from each other, so why is the crowd for HIAC and SD (or even Raw at MSG, since NYC is about 10 minutes away by driving) so different?
