Top 3 Video Games of 2009

We got consoles with SKY TV players on them, Twitter/Facebook, Movie renting and not to mention the horde of great titles released. My question is. let us know your top 3 games of 2009. 3 - Batman Arkham Asylum This title I choose for my number 3 spot. I recall just moving house back in the summer when Batman was released and my sofa was on order so I started and finished the game sat on the floor in my lounge. The combat system was really what started me off with the compulsive game play. I recall before buying it I was concerned that the fact of remaining with in the asylum all the way through would bore the hell outta me, but there was never a dull moment. The Bat gadgets were pretty sweet too. Oh the sofa came 2 days after I completed the game. 2 - Uncharted 2 Among Thieves Uncharted 2 possessed much promise for me, I got a copy of the game 4 days before street date and I did hammer it too completion and rank 17 online before the game was out in stores. From the 1st mission right up till the last this game is bare knuckle biting edge of seat wonderment. 1 - WWE smack down vs RAW 2010 Kinda boring and bold to pick WWE SD VS RAW on a wrestling themed forum but oh well. Its amazing by far the best wrestling video game ever. There are so many new fresh features been introduced this year. I enjoy messing around in the training facility. Superstars threads is one of my favorite new features and of course... Story creator (BOW DOWN) I have managed to go through 2 years of story designer now. OK heres the thing back in November I had a operation on my back forcing me out of work for up to 6 weeks and lets just say I had more then enough time to do this.

Don't get me wrong I love XBOX it's just they don't like me I'm forever swapping them in work cause of the 3 red lights issue. and my Wii hmm It's ok lol I just started New Supermario bros on the Wii thats awesome I miss side scrollers. Now, that's hard to say... I just looked through my game collection, and I think I have the games I would say were the best of 2009 3.) Borderlands This game has insane amounts of loot, and although the story is nothing less than paper thin the game is really fun and keep your entertained from beginning to end. Might even be better than Fallout 3, as an RPG shooter but, not a better overall game. Still, it deserves credit. 2.) Batman: Arkham Asylum A really solid game. Everything about this is fun, usually when I have to solve a puzzle in a fighting game or sneak around I get annoyed and can't handle it but it didn't feel like a chore in Arkham Asylum at all, with the fighting system being really solid and the new gadgets you discover I think the game deserves at least second place. Only problem is the replay isn't that great, after you beat it once you probably won't pick it up again for quite awhile. 1.) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 A generic #1 but, what can I say? The game is great. The story was a bit short, but had a badass finale that just made you go "AWESOME!" and the online is great as usual. Sure there are problems, but I have devoted the most time to this game than any other game of 2009, so I think it deserves #1 no matter how angry it gets me. Keep in mind I only own a 360, and a DS Lite. So, I'm shut out from the PS3 world completely but I have dabbled on my older brother's Wii now and again... nothing spectacular to make the list. So yeah, I shouldn't really comment on this even though I technically got all of those games this year. Yeah I know where your coming from with that, I beat the game on normal mode I'm like 87% complete including the challenges. And I been meaning to re start the game on hard, but at the moment I just be bothered.

Punch-Out!! (Wii) 2. Persona 4 (PS2) 3. Street Fighter IV (PS3) P4 technically came out in 2008, but it was only released here this year. I was stuck choosing 3rd place. It was either SFIV, Disssidia: Final Fantasy or New Super Mario Bros Wii. Tekken 6 flat-out failed to impress me. It was decent, but its scenario mode and crappy story mode killed it for me. I've yet to finish Chrono Trigger DS (which also came out in 2008 elsewhere) but only here this year). The rest of the games I was playing were basically from previous years.

Scenario mode sucks. It's as if SEGA decided to do a really crap modern version of Streets of Rage.

Hmm...top 3 for me for the year would probably go something like... 3. Scribblenauts (DS) 2. inFamous (PS3) 1. Dragon Age: Origins (PS3) I'm almost tempted to slot Arkham Asylum in at #3, maybe #2, but I've only played it for about a half hour or so since buying it two days ago. However if this included games that I've first played but were not released in 2009, MGS4 would definitely top my list. I got hooked for a while and left me wanting more. Very few games do that to me.

I never played Phantom Hourglass before, but I plan on picking it up as soon as I'm done with Spirit Tracks. So far, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit. Nintendo Power rated the game a 9.5 and named it as being the best DS game of the year, so I'd take their word for it.
