Will it be merged into the WWE section?

Yep. The posts within the ECW folder sill simply be moved to the general WWE folder (for archive purposes) and the ECW folder will basically be renamed to the WWE NXT folder. If it turns out that the show gets as much discussion as WWE Superstars, then the folder will be removed completely.

But I think the NXT folder would be a more popular folder because it's a new show and a new concept; new stuff breeds new discussion. So in that sense I do see it succeeding.

The NXT folder has been created as a sub-folder of the main WWE folder. I know we have been keeping all NXT discussion contained to one thread, but you are free to branch out and discuss anything relevant to NXT within that folder. The ECW folder will remain for about a week. There is some activity in a few threads right now, so we'll leave the folder until the activity eventually dies off. Then, all topics will be merged into the main WWE folder.
