Cheech and Chong guest host this week's Raw as we continue down the Road to WrestleMania. Bret Hart is scheduled to appear on Raw tonight. Hopefully, we'll get some kind of indication as to what his role at WrestleMania will be. We'll probably get some kind of reaction from John Cena after last week's beat down from Batista. It'll be interesting to see how WWE follows up on the huge "streak vs career" announcement made last week for the Taker vs HBK WM rematch. And Triple H wasn't seen or heard from at all last week. Will he appear tonight? Will we see how The Game will be involved in this year's WrestleMania?

Well Swagger won a match. His first in 4 months.

Is Batista serious? He should be on the next season of jersey shore. he looks like the biggest toolbag every week.

Just cause he's cooler then you, don't be jealous. He owned John Cena on the mic tonight. Which is a suprise considering Cena is good on the mic and Tista suck. But not tonight.

Loving the pillow fight right now. Damn Kelly Kelly. She's just...wow.

So much for Triple H doing something important at WrestleMania XXVI.

The opening segment between Triple H and HBK was white hot. The promo between Cena and Batista was white hot. But I thought that the Bret/Vince promo was the worst the two have done together. I dunno, just wasn't feeling it this week. Here's hoping they still reveal that either Vince authorized the attack on Bret that broke his leg or that (better yet) Bret set it up to lure Vince into a false sense of security to trick Vince into a match. :crossfingers:

During the HBK/Triple H segment at first, I kept thinking Triple H was going to turn on HBK during their match later in the night. The more Triple H talked, the more I thought he was setting HBK up. When the match happened, I switched gears and thought "hey, it'd be cooler if Taker came out this time. Payback for HBK costing him a title.". Well, Taker didn't come out, but he did show up on the Titantron. Now, guess it's HBK's turn to mess with Taker again?

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross appeared in front of his home state fans in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Monday night. "Did a little promo during a commercial break tonight at Raw," Ross wrote on his Twitter page. "Really fun. Huge crowd's having a blast."

Hopefully, this means J.R. will be back in time for WrestleMania. How awesome would it be if they saved his return for WrestleMania? You buy the PPV, expecting to see Cole or Grisham greeting you only, instead, to hear J.R. welcoming you to the 26th annual WrestleMania!!!

I thought out of the 3, Vince and Bret's was probably the worst. Only because Bret looked like a bitch yet again. But out of the 3 promos. no one, and I mean NO ONE was better then Vince McMahon. The guy was pure gold.

Really good RAW. Cheech and Chong werent funny, until they were in the ring, they were pretty funny there. But damn I can watch Kelly Kelly forever. She is all kinds of fine.

The ending to RAW was lame. The ending to the main event was lame. I was all geared up for Trips to do something to Shawn. Fuck, then Taker and his ugly mug shows up on the titon tron and Shawn gets all distracted like a tool. And loses to the miz of all people. And then Trips gets beat up by Sheamus. Horrible ending to RAW. Horrible.

But about the opening promo. After watch that, if anyone can still say that Shawn is better on the mic then the game, that person needs serious help. Triple H owned him. The guy just gots it down pat.

Watched Raw, it was alright. Looks like they might actually be setting up for Cena/Hart vs. Vince/Batista.

Batsita is fast becoming my favourite wrestler. He plays the part perfectly. He is the essence of a cool wrestler and it is pervading every facet of his character, his wrestling, his demeanour - everything. He and Cena gave one of the best promos in years. I was initially surprised by a wrestler uttering the phrase "attitude era" but hey, I wasn't complaining because that promo and that reference put their careers and this match firmly within a context. And that's what all great matches need, right? Hogan vs Rock was a great match because we knew what was on the line and we knew how things had changed. HBK v Austin at Wrestlemania XIV was great because we knew what was coming the next night. Tonight's promo was great because it pointed out to the audience just how long these two have been building towards this match. It's years in the making and thanks to that promo it's my second most anticipated match of the night.

Cena's reaction was good. Once again, dialogue is realistic on RAW for the first time in years. No longer does it sound as if people are trading sound bites developed backstage. The way they interrupt each other and respond to each other creates the illusion that they're actually talking to each other. It's brilliant!

Bret and Vince was much the same. Not as good but that's no shame because Cena and Batista were excellent. I particularly enjoyed Bret Hart's sarcasm shining through. "In case you haven't noticed, I'm wearing a cast" or, "I can't wrestle, you idiot!" Stuff like that sounds real and that's what I desire.

I'm really digging 'Thunderstruck' as the Wrestlemania theme song.

I completely agree with this except for the part about Batista becoming my favorite wrestler. But I think this is the best Batista has been into his own character since when he first split from Evolution. Remember that one time he was eavesdropping on Triple H badmouthing him and was just smiling all cool about it because everyone knew he was about to turn on Triple H? That launched Batista into superstardom. I'm getting the same vibe from Batista now that he's heel. He's already a superstar in WWE, but he's really going above everything he's done to this point. I don't know if you watch SD!, but one of my favorite promos in a long while was from Batista. He didn't say one word during the entire promo. He just teased the audience like he was going to speak. His mannerisms and his demeanor was absolutely brilliant. Dave, like most wrestlers, is truly shinning as a heel.

I can agree with this. These segments were the exact opposite of the Diva bull riding segment from last week. They were short. They were funny. And they were fun to watch. Plus, I got a kick out of how they made two stoners get stoned on cereal on a PG show.

Yes I did see that non-promo-promo of Batistas. It was interesting, for sure.

Given how well Batista is doing at as a heel, and given how wasted he has been for three years or so as a stagnant face, it makes me wonder how much potential Cena has in that department.

All in all, I think the absolute greatest heel turn in wrestling history was the Hogan heel turn in WCW that started the n.W.o. angle. Now, I don't know if a Cena heel turn would be as epic as that, but I think it has the potential to make Cena the biggest and most profitable heel in wrestling since Hogan. Half (guesstimation?) the crowds already hate him. And Cena can cut a good promo when he has material to work with and isn't doing the cheeise suck up to the crowd routine or the cheesie tell a joke routine. Everyone knows who John Cena is. I mean, literally, I've been talking about wrestling before and people that know no one else I'm talking about knows Cena. All the tools are there. I think it would work huge for WWE. But I don't think they'll do it unless (A) they find another huge face to take Cena's place as merchandise king and/or (B) TNA can make something of their Monday Night battles with WWE and forces WWE to make a change.

I honestly wonder if the WWE has hired a new head writer or if Vince has been writing things as of late. Because the writing has been truly excellent. I've watched around Mania for the past few years and never has it been this good. People at this site seem to agree entirely with this sentiment. It can't be coincidental. I think something has changed internally.

I bring this up because maybe this new influence will catalyse a Cena heel run?

You're right when you say it would be big. Bigger than Jesus big.

I don't think Raw has gotten better at all.

This whole Bret hart thing should have been done like 2006 or something. Ages ago and mostly in Canada to have an effect. Now it just has no value at all. Fans seem to be half dead when it comes to cheering him.

This whole new GM for every weak is more lame than cool. I want the rock to come but damn him and his movie schedule. Why ruin the mood of fans like myself?

So much for Kofi's push. Was he even on RAW? Or was he just in a match with Chavo on superstars?

Ha! That made me laugh in real time. But, yeah, I expect Kofi to be drafted to SD! later this summer, then do nothing there. Maybe he and Shelton can form a tag team and do nothing together.
