which is why the only person who rivaled rvd's popularity in the wwf in mid-late 2001 was steve austin...? and why sting was one of the most popular wrestlers of the 90s...?

And RVD is STILL one of the most over guys in wrestling as shown by the mega pop he got last night and the mega pop he got on each of his one night returns to WWE. And Sting is STILL one of the most popular guys in wrestling today. Oh, yeah, and he's the one guy WWE hates they never had. Aren't they still scheduled to release that Sting DVD this year?

RVD is amazing to me. I never was a huge huge fan of his, but I liked him and his work since ECW (although I rarely watched it, I do remember seeing him on there once or twice). I'll never forget though that whole Invasion angle and how he got some of the biggest cheers of the night even though he was part of the Alliance. He's definitely...wait for it...wait for it...one of a kind.

The following are the quarter-hour ratings for Monday's TNA Impact television show.

Q1: 0.99 rating - Hulk Hogan, Abyss, A.J. Styles, Ric Flair, Sting appearance

Q2: 0.98 rating - Sting and Dixie backstage, Styles and Flair, X Division setup and match

Q3: 1.00 rating - Continuation of X Division match, Shannon Moore run-in, Dixie Carter, Beautiful People tease

Q4: 1.07 rating - Knockouts Tag Title match, Tazz teases RVD, RVD vs. Sting

Q5: 1.07 rating - Sting and Hogan confrontation, Kevin Nash, Eric Young, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman

Q6: 1.03 rating - Young vs. Waltman, Ken Anderson and Kurt Angle

Q7: 0.95 rating - Bubba The Love Sponge with Hogan, Beer Money vs. Jeff Jarrett

Q8: 0.76 rating - Beer Money vs. Jarrett conclusion, Hulk and Brooke Hogan, Hogan and Abyss vs. Flair and Styles

Overrun: 1.01 rating - The bulk of the main event match, various run-ins, Jeff Hardy save

I hope Beer Money doesn't get blamed for having the lowest rated quarter hour. I want to see more Beer Money.

TNA Impact scored a 1.0 rating with 1.4 million viewers, which is also down from the 1.14 rating the show drew on Thursday night.

There was a big drop off from Q7 to Q8 ..I think there would not have been that had the match felt like something I wish it would have been a legit tag match and not a handicap match. Overall I loved Monday's show I felt it was better then Raw and I felt that it seemed way more organized them last live show.

I will say keep Bubba and Brooke off my fucking screen both brought it down for me just not enjoyable to see people tell Hogan to not wrestle and he does it anyways. Nothing came from the segments not even entertainment.

Impact despite the ratings was a better show this week.

next week will be hard for me as Raw is looking to be killer thus far I am thinking watch Raw and dvr Impact.

OK, I have to tell you that this one shocks me. The replay of the 3/8 edition of Impact that aired on 3/11 did a 1.0, with 1,303,000 viewers. It was rounded up from a 0.97. The original airing did a 1.0, rounded up from a 0.98. In essence, they did the exact same rating and the overall audience was not down all that much from Monday.

I expected the number to be in the 0.5 range since I allowed that some people would tune in on the regular night out of habit, while some WWE fans would only watch Impact on a non-Raw night. Spike TV and TNA have to ecstatic with this number. I know I would be.

The segment where Sting kept beating Rob Van Dam down with a baseball bat on the March 8th iMPACT was not planned to go as long as it did.

It's being said that Hulk Hogan was slow in doing the run-in so Sting had to improvise but apparently that's not entirely correct. TNA had scripted a certain moment where Hogan would run-in in the early part of the second hour, based on a minute-by-minute breakdown of the January 4th iMPACT and when viewership peaked. The problem came when segments in the first hour ran short so they had to stretch things out going into the second hour.

Sting wasn't supposed to take out the referees on the ramp or go back to the ring but he had to kill time because he was sent to the ring too early for the match, based on the breakdown they had scripted from.
