So there are now 9 guys in MITB? Will Kofi be added on Raw to make it an even 10? I'm glad to see that rumored "Hair vs Mask" stipulation wasn't added to the Punk vs Rey match at WM. Also glad to see Jericho finally get one over on Edge. "Spear" is not the new "What". And Jericho has been looking weak since this feud officially started with Edge constantly getting the better of him. The heel needs heat to make the face look more sympathetic. They are doing it on Raw with Batista. Why must they book one of their top heels (Jericho) to look weak is beyond me. But it looks like they are making up for it this week. |

Maybe. It's crazy how Kofi never got a qualifying match, yet the 9th guy who made it got like 3. Maybe they'll add that stipulation later.

That was an excellent show, everything about it was good. All the promo's, all the matches. Shows, if you watched this SD! and still don't know why CM Punk is one of the best heels, i really don't know what is wrong with you. He cut a great promo, i was really, really into it. I love it when a heel says someone is a coward then runs away from them, making everyone hate them even more |

"How it must feel to stand in the ring with Rey Mysterio" "That's not Rey Mysterio that's their dad!" ![]() Good Smackdown. Though I though Tiffany was finished with WWE, and Beth looks a bit different, maybe it's all the makeup. |

Did anyone noticed the "HULK WHO?" sign earlier on the show? Did anyone noticed how Tifanny and McCool spent quite some time outside the ring and yet no countout from the ref? Does anyone else finds Edge's repetition of the word "Spear" as annoying? Liked this Smackdown. Best part was Punk's promo, hands down. |

Of course you were "really into it" there was a closeup of his face and for a guy like u, thats probably all it takes. However I did like the promo. He is 100% better heel then face. One of the best heels? Iunno bought that. Maybe out of the guys that are heels right now, yes. Of course hes the worst out of the top heels, with Y2J and Batista and Vince being much better. And if Orton, Edge and Trips were heels, they would be better. But since they are currently faces. Ill give it to you. CM Punk is the 4th best heel in the WWE right now....although Miz.....eh, Punks better. |

Definitely very well made promo by punk. This was good way to put over some real heat to punk. He is way better of as heel . As face he was definitely lacking. As heel he is way better of. His character is way less lacking for some reason. Anyways so Beth finally became face. It was a bout time. There was not much to do as heel. Edited by Jack_of_Blades, Mar 13 2010, 10:28 PM.

Being heel allows Punk to use the Straight-Edge lifestyle in a easier way to get over with the crowd. The face Punk barely got mic time in WWE. |

The Official D-TIME Generation has come

It's getting really hard to imagine there being many effective faces nowadays, which is why I'm starting to appreciate Cena. I mean you look at Stone Cold, who is one of the biggest faces in history, and I think it's pretty obvious that if he did that gimmick 10 years prior he would have been totally hated. So even as a face he had many heelish tendencies. There are only a handful of guys now who are legitimately better as faces, such as Mysterio, Undertaker, and Cena. With Cena, I understand how awesome he was as a heel, but I mean look at what he's done as a face and you can see he belongs as one (at least until he turns and he becomes the greatest heel ever). Punk was a good face, since he was over with the crowd, but it's not hard to see that he shines as a hell. Even if they did give him mic time as a face, he wouldn't have had half the impact that he's having now with his character. Edited by WWEWhoseLine48, Mar 14 2010, 01:40 AM.

A hell? I don't think Cena is that great of a face. The likes of Mysterio, HBK and others are better than him on that area. |

Cena was a good face, but the gimmick wore out on the fans long, long ago. Though he still gets good amount of cheers. If he ever goes heel it'd be the same with Batista in my own opinion, a breath of fresh air. |

Of course I agree with that, but I mean when you look back and see people you can trust as a face, Cena would be in that category. He plays a great heel, but it's just like Hogan; he knew how to captivate fans, and even though he had an extremely successful heel run, he's best known as that face who told kids to eat their vitamins and stuff. That's a category Cena is in that someone like Edge wouldn't be a part of, as well as Orton who has had substantial runs as both, or Punk, obviously. Although I'm just thinking about it. Can we say that Jericho was about as good a heel as he was face? I'm trying to decide which one I liked better, but he is/was tremendous as both. |

Makeyourself: Yeah i agree. It's kind of that they truly can use his straight edge gimmick to the maximum. And I think this straight edge society thing is great idea. ![]() But I don't agree that he got to little talk time. I think he got loads of time. It's just that it did not shine (his character) that much as it does with this whole straight edge society. WWEline: Cena is like second hogan. no he will surpass everything Hogan was once. he is new generation Hogan. Kids who watched Cena through the years as kid will see Cena as their favorite when they grow up. Cena will be their star instead of 80's fans Hogan or attitudes era's Rock and Stone cold (my generation). You can call Cena what you want but fact of the matter I truly believe it will go down something like that. Cena is not greatest face. (I personally think he is on ok level at the moment). There have been better faces like stone cold or most obviously the Rock. But still the guy has been through a lot and he just keeps coming. You kinda develop some kind of respect to the guy. As for Jericho I really thought he was great as face when he came back. it just that he did not have enough fan support. Turning him heel was really good idea because he really shines right now and gets the treatment he deserves. Best heel on SD at the moment I think and it should stay that way. DL: I have been watching some of the 2009 ppvs and I noticed how hated Cena has become. He got more boos than cheers in most arenas. He is definitely turning into second Hogan. His path seems to go same direction. But he won't be turned. He obviously because is to big of a cash cow at the moment. But I think some of you should forget him turning heel in the first place. Why would that solve all the problems? I mean it might make things worse. All we need to do with cena is to have him a better gimmick. Now he has something mixed with marine-superman-champ-rapper-street thug-. He needs one gimmick and not hell a lot of them smashed in together. The only reason why it's so is: 1) Because McMahon is patriot and wants to appeal and make profit out of marine audience (which he has been doing pretty good job). 2) his old rapper thing is to appeal to his first fans 3) street thug thing I just don't know why. 4) Superman to simply make him into hogan status wrestler and surpass him. Now after typing all that I doubt Vince will do anything and just let things be. |

I think Cena gets good reaction in most tv shows compared to past years. On PPVs, it seems more like mixture of love/hate/apathy. |

Does anyone else think that the only reason the WWE came up with that is so JR can come out and call this match at WM and yell "SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR!" at the end? By the way, CM Punk and Jericho are the excellence of Smackdown. |

I went to Hell in a Cell and it was split right down the middle between Orton and Cena. You can argue that any time they come in the New York area the reaction is like that, but I think in some instances it still depends on where the event takes place. Even when he was at the height of being booed, there were places where he got at least a 90% positive reaction. So it's all subjective to me. |

When I saw Cena vs Triple H live at a house show, Cena started with a 60-70% positive reaction, and by near the end of the match, his positive fan reaction was less than 15%.

The reaction itself sounds similar on TV as it does live, except that you hear more of the representation of your section than the entire arena at times. If I went based totally on what my section was doing, it would have been pro-Orton. But when Cena came out, he got this huge woosh of cheers that turned to boos for a few seconds after the Orton fans got their word in, before the kids mustered up another scream. So it depends on who you ask but it was very split and I think the DVD would prove that.

Finally watched SmackDown this week. Hey, cut me some slack. I work Friday nights and don't always watch what I record until some time after I record it. The CM Punk promo was excellent. For someone to get that much heat just from singing Happy Birthday, that's the mark of a great heel. I'd say CM Punk is probably the best heel right now. I know most people think it's a sin not to say Jericho is the best heel, but he's been really getting punked out a lot since Edge turned face. This was the first week Jericho got any heel heat back. And his heel stuff wasn't as good as Punks from earlier in the same show. |

Best way to watch is to stream it the day after it releases. You cut through all of the commercials and stuff. Man I can't really stand live shows. They have like commercials every 10 minutes. Makes it almost impossible to watch. But yeah I agree Jericho And Edge are not a good combination. They kinda cancel each other out since they both have been heels. But edge will get there.
